From the Web: New Resources for Public Health and Academia

From the Web

The Region 2 Public Health Training Center has released several new trainings. Two address climate health: Climate and Food Insecurity: Actions for Health Departments and Climate Change and Mosquito-borne Diseases: Actions for Local Health Departments. They are available for free at region2phtc.org/.

In the most recent issue of Teaching from the Chronicle of Higher Education, Beth McMurtrie shared conversations with students about AI use for studying and classroom work. She found that, “Many students use AI to study more efficiently. They’re frustrated that professors think these tools are just used for cheating.” You can read her discussion of this here.

Also from the Chronicle of Higher Education: they will be hosting an interactive session in February about burnout. The key question this session will address is, “What are some winning ways to set expectations and make coursework meaningful while keeping your workload manageable?” You can register for the session on the Chronicle’s website (it does require signing up for the Teaching newsletter).
